Company
SenSiC AB is a new provider of gas sensors for bio mass fired heaters which significantly increase the efficiency and simultaneously reduce the emission of unwanted exhaust gases also in comparison with lambda sensors. The efficiency increase is typically over 5% (e.g. 85% instead of 80%) which is a result of the capability of measuring two gases (burned and unburned) at the same time. As the cost of a sensor is in the range of a standard, low cost lambda sensor the economical advantage of the SenSiC products become obvious.
Products for bio mass heater manufacturers will be released in 2011 to key customers while expanding the company resources for production, distribution and local customer support. Works are also ongoing for the future release of sensors for engine control (EGR, SCR).
The sensor technology is based on research over the last 20 years within the Linkoping University in Sweden and takes advantage of the use of SiC (Silicon Carbide) technology for semiconductors offering full functionality in very high temperature and harsh environments. This technology has just recently become viable for commercial production of high volume, competitive products.
